Getting some benefit

This is just to show you the pinkest, most bubbliest, girliest, funniest and cutest shop which just opened in Dublin today...

The name is benefit boutique and what they do there is simply create beauty in so many different ways.
From hair to nails going through make up, but also treatments of various type and natural organic spry tan, they have it all to make a woman happy about the way she looks like...

Since I've moved to Ireland, Ive realized that here women have a very different idea of "taking care" of themselves.
While I was living in Italy I was aware of the fact that hair stylists are some kind of modern gurus and sometimes therapists at the same time and that having cured nails is a synonym of class...
but for sure I had never heard of spray tan, fake lashes and piles of make up being put on your face in order to "get ready" to go... where? Well, pretty much everywhere.

Still, it's not really my thing, but I get completely fascinated by the way in which Irish women take care of their image, their look and what they do to modify it or simply highlight it in a way that make them feel comfortable and self confident.

For me a simple like of eyeliner is totally fine, maybe i hazard a smokey eye sometimes but in general I am so not aware of how many layers of make up you should put on and in which order, therefor I am so curious about everything regarding it, but also about what pushes a woman who could already (I think..) look beautiful without spending that much time working on it to choose to spend significant part of her money and time doing it...

For sure, if the environment in which you should spend money and time is so nice and comfy as the one offered by benefit boutique, the question becomes slightly easier to answer to, because basically every woman even if not for a full treatment, would like to spend some time in that sort of shop being taken care of.

It's the kind of treat we like to give ourselves sometimes, which doesn't necessary means spending half of our day every day putting make up on, but simply choosing some day of the week just to look at each other in the mirror and go: uh yeah, this is the only thing I'm going to worry about for the next hour: the color of my new nails!

It's a way to take your mind off from what you are doing, work, study, everything else.
I guess we could compare it to reading a book for book lovers, or playing video games for boys...
This is the treat of self-lovers, who sometime exaggerate and become a joke where fake tan compared with various layers of make up and other stuff makes it hard to understand who is beneath all that, but who are usually able to distinguish between what makes them feel all right for one day and what becomes an obsession; between what actually makes them look nicer and what ruins the canvas they are desperately painting on and which would have been better without all that colours on it...

(My friend Karen and I)

In the first case, a place like benefit boutique comes as a very useful thing to have close to home.
Well, now in Dublin there is a very nice one, and it's in town in the heart of the creative quarter to be precise.
And it's pink, very pink...
